Joe Namath was the biggest name in football in the 1960s. For five consecutive years starting in has rookie season in 1965, Namath and the New York Jets visited San Diego. The Aqua Viva collection includes the first three years of those games.
First, a slideshow of the 1965 game, won by the San Diego. The Chargers picked off three of Namath’s passes.
Next, a couple of photos from the 1966 game, this time won by the Chargers 42-27. This was the first football game I ever attended.

Finally, two shots from the 1967 game, at the new San Diego Stadium. Namath threw for 343 yards and four touchdowns as the Jets won handily, 42-31
